1. The New Animal
A new animal seems to fit the description of a cat. It seems to think and act in the same way that a human does. One could argue that cat and dog do the same thing. But I do not think he makes up for this difference by being a great cat.
You might say "I think my new littermate is a great cat. I'm not sure how I feel about my new littermate." Maybe that's just my gut feeling. Maybe that is my fear of being rejected. Either way, it certainly feels as though your new animal is, in fact, a great cat.
But it is not a great cat. It is not, after all, a great dog or a great cat with a tail like mine. This new animal is a new human being.
2. The Supernatural
When I get to this point of viewing life as going the whole hog with the new human creature, I am tempted to compare my new human creature to that of the old Earth. I'm not sure exactly how that is wrong. I wonder if this is because I was so shocked by the new world. And what scares me is that I didn't recognize that you are no longer human.
